Boot's 'n cats

If you say "boots 'n cats" relatively fast, it sounds like you're beatboxing. Sorta sick right now, haven't really had the energy to work on anything (other than a little bit of Sysode).

Well, seems like I have 100$ in Staples gift cards and another 100$ in cold hard cash. Looking at their site, the Linksys BEFSX41 caught my eye. I'm also in need of a at least 750W UPS, to power all my servers incase there is no power.

Since I host Torrentino myself and manage the [three] servers, I've gotten tired of Torrentino. Maybe it's not very adventurous right now, maybe I need to add some more shit to it; I'm not sure.

At the moment, I'm up for bids ( for Torrentino).

Google Chrome dev on Linux

Google officially released Chrome for Mac and Linux.

Grab the x86 .deb package here, and run dpkg -i google-chrome-unstable_current_i386.deb

Got around to installing Chrome on my Thinkpad running Xubuntu. I can say for sure that it uses less resources compared to Firefox. For the most part, it works. Google stresses that it's not suitable for general use, there are many privacy features that just aren't there yet. I haven't had it crash...yet.

Keyboard cleaning

Clean your keyboard(s) with Post-its. That's right. Take one note and shove the sticky side down between the keys. Works beautifully, you'd be surprised the stuff that I picked up.

Do not read

Haven't been blogging lately due to the lack of creativity. There really has been nothing to blog about, I sorta even forget this site since most of my attention is toward Torrentino.

Anyway, I'm going to bed right now since it's 4am and I've been working on the comment system for Torrentino for the last couple hours (...?).

New modem

Since my ISP is 'upgrading' their network, I received a new modem. Ran a speedtest, and capped out near 25mbit/s. Now, my router is reporting from my WAN that it's 100mbit/s full duplex, not 10mbit/s half duplex. Upload speed is the same....

Anyway, just thought I'd post about something, its Wednesday so I'm going to watching TV or play some Halo....

Streber PM

If you're a freelancer or a small dev team and are feeling unorganized, I'd recommend to use Streber PM (project management). I've been using Streber for the last year or so, and I find it completely adequate. Very simple to use and a clean design (which is important IMO).

Users can create projects, tasks, topics, milestones and much more. It's great to use for any size of projects, and has tons of options.

New server

Bought some stuff from the Canonical store recently, supposedly it'll take anywhere from 2 to 12 weeks. Awesome.

I took down all my local servers and building one larger one. For the last 8 hours or so, I've been trying to get it to work but no luck. Alright, check this out: Install Debian on HDD. Try to boot => instant restart. Back to the BIOS.
Like WTF?

Same shit, different day

I've been looking for a reliable 'offshore' [web] hoster to host Torrentino. If you have any offers, I'd be pleased to hear 'em.

Work has come to a halt, I guess I've just been tired. Ticketto is still..very beta. Maybe I'll FTP a working version somewhere a bit later. WorkSimple 1.3.0 hasn't been completed. Or maybe it as...I can't remember.

Satelite has been out for a bit, too lazy to fix it so I've just been watching House (the show, not the noun...or whatever).

Considering there has been little to none for comments, I guess there will be no free domain contest.

Anyway, as usual comments are appreciated (I don't get enough!)

Torrentino and the MPAA

Opened Gmail this morning, expecting a couple of crap emails; the usual. But no, an email from my web hoster (HostGD). They recieved an email from the MPAA (read here) and forwarded it to me. 12 hours or my account will be terminated....

Long story short, I put up a temp page for Torrentino. Hopefully I'll find a cheap offshore web host to host Torrentino on.

Comments are appreciated ;)
